Velmi často se setkávám s obecným míněním o spojitosti jména Friedrich Nietzsche a fašismu, kdy jsou lidi přesvědčeni o sympatiích tohoto pána s těmito nestoudníky. F.N. však nikdy žádnými sympatiemi ani antisemitismem ani jiným politickým hnutím netrpěl. Sám se dokonce zřekl svého, tehdy pruského, občanství a žil do konce života bez státní příslušnosti.(tedy nemohl volit, že ano)

Na vině je Nietzscheho sestra. Ta když se vrátila po sebevraždě svého nacionalistického manžela, se kterým se v mládí, za Friedrichova výsměchu, odstěhovala do Paraguaye, kde se budovaly “true” germánské kolonie, prodávala a republikovala Nietzscheho spisy. Jeden originál (už si ale nevzpomínám čeho) pak darovala Hitlerovi a ten se toho chytl a přebral a pochopil si to po svém, jak už to měl ostatně tento pán bohužel ve zvyku. Nietzsche zemřel roku 1900, předtím však byl již nemocen a nepublikoval (asi tak 10let). Rovněž skazky o tom, že vinou na skonání F.N. byl syfilis jsou nepodložené, resp. neprokázané, a současnost se kloní spíše k faktu, že měl jistou formu rakoviny mozku.

Aby to nevypadalo, že mi byly letošní volby úplně lhostejný.

Úplně náhodou jsem narazil na jeden testík, který jsem si kdysi dělal a jehož výsledky právě objevil během úklidu na disku Q, a tak mě napadlo je porovnat s aktuálmím stavem.

Testík neměří inteligenci ale jakým způsobem využívá člověk hemisféry. Na závěr je pak poměrně podrobné hodnocení, které alespoň mně, velmi šokovalo svojí přesností.

Lékaře nepotřebují zdraví, ale nemocní. Jděte a učte se, co to je: Milosrdenství chci, a ne oběť. Nepřišel jsem pozvat spravedlivé, ale hříšníky.

Toto je údajně skutečná odpověď v testu střední úrovně z chemie na univerzitě ve Washingtonu. Odpověď jednoho studenta byla tak “hluboká”, že se profesor rozhodl podělit se o ni s kolegy na internetu.

Otázka Extra (Bonus): Je peklo exotermické (uvolňuje teplo)
neboendotermické (absorbuje teplo)?

Většina studentů napsala své domněnky na základě Boylova zákona (plyn se ochlazuje, když se roztahuje, a zahřívá se, když je stlačován) nebo nějakou variantu. jeden student ale napsal toto:

Nejprve musíme vědět, jak se hmota pekla mění v čase. Potřebujeme tedy vědět poměr, ve kterém duše přicházejí do pekla, a poměr, ve kterém z něj odcházejí. Myslím, že můžeme předpokládat, že duše která se dostane do pekla, již nevyjde. Tudíž neodchází žádná duše. Pro představu, kolik duší přichází do pekla, se podívejme na jednotlivá náboženství v dnešním světě.

Většina z nich tvrdí, že kdo není příslušníkem dané církve, přijde do pekla. od okamžiku, kdy existuje více než jedno náboženství a lidé nepatří do více než jedné církve můžeme předpokládat, že všechny duše přijdou do pekla. Na základě poměru mezi natalitou a mortalitou můžeme očekávat, že počet duší v pekle exponenciálně roste. Nyní se podívejme na poměr změny objemu pekla, protože podle Boyleova zákona pro udržení stejného tlaku a teploty musí objem růst úměrně k počtu přijatých duší.

To nám dává dvě možnosti:

1. Jestliže se objem pekla zvětšuje pomaleji než v poměru, v jakém přicházejí duše do pekla, teplota a tlak pekla porostou, až peklo vybuchne.
2. Jestliže peklo roste rychleji než v poměru k přicházejícím duším, teplota a tlak budou klesat, až peklo zmrzne.

Která z možností je správná?

Jestliže přijmeme postulát, který nastolila Tereza v prvním ročníku, čili “Dříve bude v pekle zima, než se s tebou vyspím” a se zřetelem k tomu, že se se mnou vyspala včera, musí být správná varianta číslo 2, peklo je tedy nepochybně exotermické a již zmrzlo.

Závěr této teorie je, že pokud peklo zmrzlo, nepřijímá další duše, zaniklo a zůstalo pouze nebe, což je důkaz boží existence, který vysvětluje, proč Tereza včera v noci křičela “Ach můj Bože”.

is a flagship project of the World Year of Physics 2005 celebration of the centennial of Albert Einstein’s miraculous year. The program searches for gravitational waves in data collected by US and European gravitational wave detectors.

Albert Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity predicted the existence of gravitational waves in 1916, but only now has technology reached the point that scientists hope to detect them directly. Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of space and time produced by violent events in the universe such as black hole collisions and exploding stars (supernovae). Longer-lived sources of gravitational waves include rapidly rotating compact stars, and binary systems composed of two orbiting stars. The ripples travel through space, carrying information both about their source and about the nature of gravity itself.

Einstein@Home searches data from the US Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO) and the British/German GEO-600 gravitational wave observatory for signals coming from very dense, rapidly rotating compact quark and neutron stars. Einstein’s theory predicts that if these compact stars are not perfectly spherical, they should continuously emit gravitational waves. LIGO and GEO-600 are now sufficiently sensitive that they might detect these signals if the stars are close enough to earth.

Finding such signals in gravitational wave data requires an enormous amount of computing power. Estimates indicate that searching gravitational data with the maximum possible sensitivity would require many times the computing capacity of even the most powerful supercomputer.

LIGO Scientific Collaboration researchers from the Albert Einstein Institute, UWM, and the LIGO Laboratory are enlisting the aid of an army of home computer users to analyze the data. Much like the popular SETI@Home project that searches radio telescope data for signs of extraterrestrial life, Einstein@Home will involve hundreds of thousands people who will dedicate a portion of their personal computers’ computational time to the project.

The Einstein@Home program is available for PCs running Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. When the computer is not in use, it downloads LIGO and GEO600 data from a central server and searches it for gravitational wave signals. While running, it displays a screensaver that depicts the celestial sphere, with the major constellations outlined. A moving marker indicates the portion of the sky currently being searched on the computer.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair – get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your
Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents‘ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers ! are inte rested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually
have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.
